This month we're looking at the idea of what it means to forgive our enemy. For most of us who practice the 12 Steps and A Course In Miracles this seems to be the primary focus of our curriculum. In A Course In Miracles the book states at the very beginning, “This course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance.” One of the huge blocks in my own awakening was the idea that I had an enemy I needed to attack and to be protected from. With this idea firmly in place I could not experience love’s presence and in fact suffered greatly from its absence in my mind.
Thank God we have a solution through these two programs, the 12 steps and the Course. They offer us the freedom from a bondage we forever thought was deserved. Through forgiveness of ourselves and consequently our brothers we now know what it means to “feel we are on the Broad Highway walking hand in hand with the Spirit of the Universe” (Alcoholics Anonymous, pg 75). And forever grateful to this experience, we happily offer these articles to you, expressing our stories of how these programs work for us. Online 12step and Course Conference: This month we are celebrating our SECOND Online Course in Miracles and 12 Step Conference. It’s a one day conference taking place on Saturday July 7th at 10am Central Standard Time to 3pm. The event will take place at meetings.12stepmiracle.com. Look at our home page for more information about the upcoming conference. We will be posting recordings from the last conference on our home page as well so keep an eye out for them.
5 day Retreat in July: There is also a five day retreat being held at the Miracles Healing Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI, from Wednesday, July 4th to Sunday, July 8th.
