Step One: We admitted we were powerless over alcohol--that our lives had become unmanageable.


Who would be willing to be turned away from all the roadways of the world, unless he understood their real futility? Is it not needful that he should begin with this, to seek another way instead?
The important thing is that we have an obsession in our mind, and whatever that obsession might be, the only way to recover is through the mind itself.
The central fact of our lives today is the absolute certainty that our Creator has entered into our hearts and lives in a way which is indeed miraculous...
What if someone told you there is a total moment of pure freedom available to you right now upon this unabashed whole recognition of your complete unmanageability and abundant powerless self will? That this Step is not only one in twelve, but also one in its Self?
