Step Three: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Is it not He Who knows the way to you? You need not know the way to Him. Your part is simply to allow all obstacles that you have interposed between the Son and God the Father to be quietly removed forever. God will do His part in joyful and immediate response. 
When we saw others solve their problems by a simple reliance upon the Spirit of the Universe, we had to stop doubting the power of God. Our ideas did not work. But the God idea did.
With this one decision, you no longer have to be worried, afraid, or undecided. You have help, and it never ever leaves you. In fact, it's the one true thing that you can count on. I did and am and have never looked back. 
Like all the remaining Steps, Step Three calls for affirmative action, for it is only by action that we can cut away the self-will which has always blocked the entry of God—or, if you like, a Higher Power—into our lives.
