Your wildest misperceptions, your weird imaginings, your blackest nightmares all mean nothing. They will not prevail against the peace God wills for you. The Holy Spirit will restore your sanity because insanity is NOT the Will of God.
To believe means to put aside our doubts. To believe means to have hope. Believing lets the healing happen. 
If a mere code of morals or a better philosophy of life were sufficient to overcome [our addiction], many of us would have recovered long ago. But we found that such codes and philosophies did not save us, no matter how we try.
A power greater than yourself is already at work in your life. As your addiction is being lifted, you will naturally see that because miracles are natural.
